Boomerangs (again...)

Well,  I'm all caught up on making boomerang blocks.  Just have to wait on people to send me my blocks or their fabric.

I'm gonna take a little break, and then either finish a purse, finish a pinwheel top, or start a bumblebee top. (the to-do list never ends, and that's the way I like it!)

Lol - I know you are all tired of seeing random blocks that don't go to anything -- but I promise to work on a project tomorrow that includes finishing a top at least (if not quilting the whole thing by the end of the week!)

More Boomerang Blocks!

I think the reason all of my posts lately have been centered on the boomerang swap is because I've dropped everything else to do this one.  I have two other swaps to make blocks for and most importantly my first commissioned quilt - but for some reason I can't focus on anything but the boomerangs!

From the looks of things so far, I'll be dividing my blocks into two quilts: "purple only" and "rainbow"  -- oh what fun!!

I got a boomerang block back!!

I got my first boomerang block back yesterday!!!   The block name is "Pennsylvania" and it's from CollettaKay -- SO VERY PRETTY!!!!!

In an unrelated note -- I have a huge moment at the movies last night.   My friend's son is at the age where he wants to go on dates, but still needs to be chaperoned. So lately, I've been going to the movies with my friend (and her son and his date) -- last night we took a big risk and went to a different movie than the son & his girl.  We walked into our theater (and we were the only ones there!!) and as the next couple walked in (ended up being the only other people in that movie!!!) ONE OF MY BAGS WAS ON THE LADY'S SHOULDER!!!   It was such a rush to see my "work" in "public"

Boomerang Swap!

So I'm headed out to mail 35 F8 of a beautiful purplish fabric to friends all over the country for each of them to make a block and send it back to me. (They will all send me fabric to make blocks as well.)  In the lovely hours of early morning, I made this crazy block from my own fabric (it's the purple & white one) for my quilt.  No idea what I was thinking with the pattern, I really just wanted to use that dark purple, which I only had scraps of...
